Well Represents Shandong, China at the 9th Regional Leaders Summit Energy Forum
Quebec City, QC, May 20, 2018 – Over the past weekend, Well’s Vice President, Dr. Keng H. Chung, accompanied the Deputy Premier of Shandong, Sun Jiye, as Shandong’s representative for the 9th Regional Leaders Summit (RLS) Energy Forum.
About the RLS-Energy Forum
Hosted every two years, RLS is an international energy summit that focuses on the development of bilateral and multilateral collaborative projects across seven regions of the world: Shandong of China, Bavaria of Germany, Upper Austria of Austria, Quebec of Canada, Western Cape of South Africa, Georgia of United State of America, and Sao Paulo of Brazil.
The geographical scope and diversity of each region creates a unique research and innovation network for developing joint projects, influencing policy, and promoting research in renewable energies.
Insights on Renewable Energy Development
Representing Shandong at the energy forum, Well’s Dr. Keng H. Chung presented on the renewable energy development in the province of Shandong and its medium to long-term strategic plans. As a State Specially Recruited Expert at the Qingdao Institute of Bioenergy and Bioprocess Technology (QIBEBT), Dr. Keng H. Chung detailed Shandong’s current initiatives, which focus on new energy, new materials, advanced biotechnology, and the transformation of conventional to new energy conversion.
Well and QIBEBT will collaborate with regional partners in technology development for renewable energy. Following the forum, energy experts from all regions convened to establish a strategic energy roadmap, as a mean to sustain long-term cooperation among the regions.
